You can never be overprepared when it comes to caring for horses. Luke Bass, DVM, MS, Dipl. ABVP, Clinical Sciences Department Assistant Professor at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, in Fort Collins, recommends horse owners have a basic equine first-aid kit on hand to treat minor injuries, be prepared for emergencies, and tend to their horse before the veterinarian arrives.
